TWINAGURE Center
Who are we ?
Presentation
TWINAGURE is a Training Center initiated as part of the Value Chain initiated by the non-profit organization SOPAD. Although this Center is newly restructured, it has been operating in Burundi since 1996 at the initiative of Mrs. Claudette Nduwayezu. The original idea was to assist vulnerable individuals, including war and HIV/AIDS orphans, victims of rape, and any other person in need of social assistance. This idea later evolved to mentor marginalized women's groups, especially single mothers and women abandoned by their husbands.
The entrepreneurial approach taken by the center has focused much more on teaching trades, creating income-generating activities, etc.
Currently, the TWINAGURE Center works with groups of young people and women who are eager to revolutionize their lives through hard work by providing professional training sessions in agri-food production techniques, agro-industrial transformation practices, etc.
Areas of intervention of the TWINAGURE Center
TWINAGURE Center organizes information-training sessions for beneficiary groups on topics such as :
- Computer skills, especially basic solutions like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.; Secretarial and Administrative duties; Accounting software and business management.

Impact of the Center on the communities
Beneficiaries of our projects
Youth who want to be competitive in the job market
TWINAGURE Center invites youth who want to be competitive in the job market to participate in computer training sessions. The training is open to everyone.
Single mothers who want to learn trades
TWINAGURE has set up a sewing training workshop for young people and girls who want to create their own jobs. After training in sewing or embroidery, the beneficiaries are organized into groups and receive a starter kit.
Young people and women who want to engage in small business.
TWINAGURE also organizes training sessions in marketing and commercial techniques. After the theoretical training, the Association provides internships to the beneficiaries. If the beneficiaries succeed, the Centre provides employment opportunities within SOPATRAM's processing unit, while for others, it offers startup capital and supports them in their development process.
The groups of single mothers and vulnerable women
Groups of single mothers and vulnerable women: As part of its primary mission, the Center supports groups of single mothers and vulnerable women. These groups receive training on nutritional health, sexual and reproductive health first, then participate in various activities organized by SOPAD, and finally receive startup capital to initiate small businesses and income-generating activities.
Link 3: The third link primarily concerns the social aspect. This link forms groups responsible for the marketing of products and will complete the loop between the other two links.
Our achievements
Apart from the marketing of processed products within the framework of the youth entrepreneurship of the SOPAD organization, the Center has participated in the creation of a common shop to support and accompany groups of single mothers and vulnerable women.
The TWINAGURE Center also supports a group of women specializing in embroidery in Kinama, in the urban commune of Ntahangwa in Bujumbura.
In the promotion of technology, TWINAGURE has established a computer training center open to all its beneficiaries. This center provides basic knowledge of computer solutions, management and accounting software, etc. It also provides a space for young people in the DUHURIREHO program to conduct research and share experiences.
